Rachil B. Willig, L.Ac., C.N., President Rachil has an eclectic approach to healing. She is trained in clinical nutrition, and has a master's degree in Oriental medicine, which includes: acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Constitutional Dietary Training, Shiatsu, Cupping Tai Qi and Qi Gong (energetic healing.) Rachil enjoys helping people heal themselves naturally. By educating her patients she empowers them to access their bodies' own healing powers: creating health and preventing disease. She is the founder of The Sage Center for Health, an integrative health center in Santa Barbara.
Ms. Willig has lived in Santa Barbara for over 20 years and is dedicated to creating awareness and access to integrative medicine in our community. She has been working with Healing Opportunities since its inception in 2001 and is proud to now be the Chief Executive Officer.
LeAnne R. Keller, L.Ac, Vice President Originally from Orange County, LeAnne got her start in the health care field eight years ago when she began working at the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine, from which she graduated in August 2005. LeAnne is passionate about bringing more public access to alternative healthcare, and empowers her clients to achieve a balanced lifestyle.
Ms. Keller currently has a private practice in acupuncture, shiatsu, and herbology in lovely downtown Santa Barbara.
Renee Barsa, L.Ac., Secretary Renee K. Barsa graduated from one of the oldest and most respected acupuncture schools in the nation, the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. Her undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Vermont provided a strong background in the sciences. She is California Board Certified, Facial Acupuncture Certified, and Nationally Licensed, as well as being a Yoga Therapist. Alongside her general practice, she also specializes in infertility and IVF treatments, and was the first acupuncturist to perform these treatments at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.
Karen Christensen, L.Ac., Treasurer Karen studied Chinese Medicine at Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. After a two year work study in Los Angeles, she is currently working with cancer patients at Issels Medical Center in Santa Barbara; supporting the patient's rigorous alternative cancer therpies with acupuncture. Karen also treats children and adults with neurological injury and disability.
With a business emphasis in her bachelor's studies at UCSB, she is thrilled to be contributing to Healing Opportunities as Treasurer. it is her goal to help Healing Opportunites bring alternative medicine to the forefront on our community.
Larry Cooper, LLP Larry is the founder of Health Classics Productions. Health Classics Productions presents seminars in several different areas, including health education and physician wellness, and also operates an internet store.
