| Psychological First Aid Course Description
The purpose of this course is to prepare all American Red Cross workers with the skills to provide basic care, comfort and support to people experiencing disaster related stress.
After completing this training, participants will be able to do the following: 1. Describe how to recognize the signs of stress in clients, co-workers, and themselves. 2. Apply psychological first aid principles while providing immediate support to people who may be experiencing stress. 3. Describe how to obtain additional mental health support for themselves, co-workers and clients.
Given the healing and therapeutic uses of acupuncture to treat mental-emotional imbalances, as well as our increased recognition to assist the community with stress, this course is both a timely education and a perfect balance to enhance acupuncture's effectiveness.
