This course will present ways of using herbal treatments for injuries and acute conditions. Both external and internal uses of herbs and foods as first aid medicines will be discussed. Hands on demonstrations of how to prepare tinctures, liniments, poultices, compresses, washes, herbal salves and oils will also be provided.
This course will prepare students to create an herbal first aid kit. These medicines will be used in the treatment of injuries such as cuts, lacerations, bruises and burns, and common acute conditions such as diarrhea, food poisoning, colds and flus, cough and congestion, and pain. Students will learn a variety of methods of using these remedies both internally and externally.
