Guided by three primary objectives – Research, Education and Treatment – Healing Opportunities seeks to achieve a broader goal to support and promote acupuncture and numerous other modalities of healing within functional medicine. With focus in these areas, we strive to fulfill our purpose of fostering health and well-being for the communities of Santa Barbara County.
Healing Opportunities’ primary goal in regard to research is to generate and provide outcomes data that complements and furthers medical research in support of acupuncture and advances its use within functional medicine to better integrate traditional western medicine with other healing modalities, particularly acupuncture.
We are working to collaborate with medical facilities, agencies, and/or physicians in the community to accomplish this goal through an ear acupuncture program, fostering positive dialogue, communication, and integration.
In this program, nursing staff will receive workplace stress management care through the NADA ear acupuncture protocol. Research will encompass the compilation of data, in the form of measurable outcomes that identify the efficacy of [acupuncture] to improve absenteeism, minimize medication errors, and decrease levels of depression and anxiety.
Healing Opportunities seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of acupuncture for individual treatment, as well as to promote its positive effects within general medical practice, and within functional medicine by creating and promoting educational programs that increase knowledge and foster such awareness. By hosting Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Healing Opportunities offers training for acupuncturists and community members to learn integrative medicine techniques. Workshops featuring NADA ear acupuncture protocol are offered in a variety of locations, and for varying levels of interest and need. Areas of focused interest have ranged from Aroma Acupoint Therapy, Qi Gong, and posture therapy to NADA ear acupuncture. Contact us to become a Healing Opportunities Partner in Education.
